About the speaker

Gretchen Gagel, PhD, GAICD

Gretchen is a strategic leader who leverages significant global consulting and Board experience to drive organisational performance. Since joining FMI in 1994 (the largest construction industry investment banking/strategy firm in the US), Gretchen has consulted to clients such as NiSource Energy, Dominion Energy, General Motors, Procter & Gamble, and Intel on effective capital program delivery strategies; and consulted to global engineering and construction firms such as Black & Veatch, WSP, and DPR Construction on strategic growth and profitability.

Gretchen’s experience on 13 Boards and Advisory Committees spans seven continents and leverages her expertise in leadership, governance, change management/agility, ESG, and risk management. Gretchen was inducted into the National Academy of Construction (NAC) in 2021 and currently serves on the NAC Executive Committee; and in 2023 served as the first female Chair of the Judging Panel for the Australian Construction Achievement Awards (AUS). Gretchen also serves on the Construction Industry Culture Taskforce (AUS) and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
